September has been a busy month and we anticipate things picking up even more as we head into the christing holiday season. We’ve been putting everything back into the distro and working on various things in the background; this is an overview. SATURDAY OCT 19th – We are moving our regular hours to Friday Oct 18th and taking a table full of records, CDs and tapes to Barn Hammer. From 2-6 there is a vendor space in the anteroom as they launch BLACK MASS, a black Pilsener spearheaded by Trevor of @beerandbaphomet. After the market there will be appropriately dark gathering in the tapeoom with some giveaways etc. The proceeds from the sale of Black Mass and from the event will benefit 1 Just City, a non-profit working with local issues of homelessness, poverty and social justice. Barn Hammer have hosted us many times for metal markets and we were brought on to this event by special invitation, so there are no available vendor spaces, but come and visit us from 2-6. 595 Wall St, Sat Oct 19th. FORUM
Thanks to those that have used the forum and given feedback. The impetus to create a central place for order building and pre-order discussions before they hit the store remains – we need a central place to quickly reference people’s preorder requests as we build orders. There is sill work to do here to make the process more seamless, but it is ultimately going to be an enhancement to the ordering process for our power users.
The forum is a pre-pass that helps us hit minimum order requirements more frequently and ensure that things arent immediately sold out where possible, in addition to our regular ordering process – if you prefer to use the time honored method of grabbing things from the store as they go into open pre-order or regular stock, you’re still going to have that opportunity.
There will also be regular posts of available titles from bigger suppliers which we can build into upcoming orders. We are refining this process as well – the ultimate goal being making things more accessible. Stay tuned for updates on that front.
