A return to form for the legends – I havent been hooked by much in recent decades from their output to be honest, but the reinvigoration of adding Richie Faulkner who adds a new flair to the old formulae, a slightly more aggressive take and a return to less generic lyrical tropes have really driven Invincible Shield back into the zenith of Priest’s modern legacy. One of my favorite albums of the year from a formative cornerstone of the genre. No Priest, no Slayer… etc.
